We are pleased to announce that Mason will be hosting a Virtual Celebration of the Class of 2020. We are proud of our students and everything they have accomplished. Celebrating their achievements is vitally important to all of us in the Honors College community.

We invite you to join us for the virtual celebration on Friday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. on GMU-TV. This will include congratulatory messages from President Holton and the Deans, a short message from a member of the Class of 2020, a performance by the Green Machine, and special guests wishing you well. We hope you will take the time to celebrate your accomplishments and invite friends and family to do so as well.

In addition, the Honors College’s Dean Zofia Burr; Associate Dean Jan Allbeck; Director of Development Valentino Bryant; Alumna Melissa Alberto; and Honors College Student Advisory Board (HCSAB) members Ahmad Alach, Elsie Amoako-Kissi, and Kady Buserkrus will share videos with their own remarks on the Marching Orders website, which can be accessed by clicking here or at the following link: https://www2.gmu.edu/celebration-graduates. The Honors College will share a commemorative program of the day and a dedicated graduation slide show with personalized slides for each graduate, showing their name, degree, major and college.

While we are unable to hold a traditional Spring Commencement ceremony this May, we know our students want their opportunity to walk across the stage and hear their name called while friends and family cheer. The university continues to assess the safety of holding an in-person event in the future. You will all be invited to participate in an in-person ceremony at a future date when it is safe to do so.

But, in the meantime, we hope you will join us for your Virtual Celebration of the Class of 2020 at GMU-TV on May 22 at 2:00 p.m.!
