Applying to the Honors College

We're a small college within a large research university. Begin your Mason experience by attending selective seminar classes with a small cohort of students. You'll have access to faculty mentors, Honors academic advising, and extracurricular programming.

Students transferring from another college or university may apply to the Honors College while applying to the university through the online application.

You'll be a welcome member of two communities from your first day on campus: the Honors College and Mason Nation.

Application Process
  • Complete the 650-word essay included in the application
  • Any information submitted in the application is open for consideration for admissions to the Honors College
  • Some students may be invited to an in-person interview
Requirements for Consideration:
  • Completion of 12-24 credit hours at an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Applications submitted by October 1st for Spring semester entry and March 1st for Fall semester entry will be given priority.

Students are only accepted into the Honors College for the fall & spring semesters.
