Becoming an Honors student will admit you to unique seminar courses, Honors classes based within your field of study, and an environment that will challenge and stretch your abilities. You'll also tackle multidisciplinary problems to fulfill core requirements.

Honors College students pursue degrees in all majors

Applying to the Honors College if You Currently Attend Mason
  • Students who have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have completed at least 24 credits at Mason are eligible to join the Honors College.   
  • You may apply during your second semester at Mason. You may be offered conditional acceptance to join the Honors College in your third semester; your grades will be reviewed again after your second semester is completed. 
  • We will consider any information you submit in your application, along with your Mason record. 
  • In some cases, we might ask for an interview.
Apply now to join the Honors College in Spring 2024
  • Complete our application by March 5th. You will need to login using your Mason NetID and password to complete this application.
  • A letter of recommendation is highly recommended. Please consider requesting at least one Mason professor or advisor to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Recommendations should be submitted via this form.

  • The Honors College Planning Form is available to assists you in understanding where you stand in terms of the Honors College requirements and Mason Core requirements.

Interested students can learn more about joining the Honors College in their second or third year by attending one of the upcoming information sessions listed below. Please RSVP on Mason360.
