Winter Graduation 2020

To celebrate our winter graduates, the Honors College is hosting a virtual graduation and reception event for graduates and their families on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. Please join us in congratulating our 97 graduates by registering to attend the event here. Graduates can share the Zoom link sent through Mason360 with their families.

The celebration event will include speeches by Dean of the Honors College Dr. Zofia Burr and Winter 2020 Honors College graduates Ethan Kolonoski (Forensic Science), Lily Kreitzberg (Conflict Analysis), and Donnelle Bodnarchuk (History). Assistant Dean of the Honors College Dr. Anthony Hoefer will be Master of Ceremonies.

"At any graduation event, we want to celebrate the achievements of our students. This year, I hope our graduates feel a little extra pride — they've finished their last academic terms with this unexpected, additional degree of difficulty. I want all of them to take pride in succeeding. They've demonstrated resilience beyond what we ever would have asked of students. Our graduates need to own that — and know that their resilience and adaptability will serve them well in whatever comes next," says Dr. Hoefer.

After we formally acknowledge our graduates and their spectacular achievements, there will be breakout rooms so graduating students and their families can chat with Honors College faculty and staff in attendance.

Mason will hold a virtual commencement for the entire Class of 2020 at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, on GMU-TV. Graduates can update their Marching Order here.
