Schedule Approval

Check your schedule before submission

  • Students should not take more than 15 credits unless their sample schedule specifies 16 or 17 credits. Each credit over 15 is considered an overload and is associated with an extra cost
  • You may not register for HNRS courses other than HNRS 122, HNRS 130, and HNRS 110 in your first semester.
  • You may register for HNRT courses or H sections of disciplinary courses in your first semester.
  • You must take a HNRS 110 lecture and an HNRS 110 recitation in your first semester. For example:

Lecture: Research and Inquiry - 75311 - HNRS 110 - 001 (4 credits)
Recitation: Recitation for Lecs 001-020 - 71613 - HNRS 110 - 301 (0 credits)

  • For classes other than HNRS 110, you must make sure to register for the recitation(s) and/or labs associated with the sections of a class for which you are registering. For example:

Analytic Geom and Calculus II - 70782 - MATH 114 - 002 (4 credits) and Recitation for Lecture 002 - 71169 - MATH 114 - 313 (0 credits)
Honors University Physics I - 78484 - PHYS 160 - H01 (3 credits) and Recitation for Lecture H01 - 78502 - PHYS 160 -3H1 (0 credits) and University Physics I Lab - 70563 - PHYS 161 201 (1 credit)
General Chemistry I - 70048 - CHEM 211 - 001 (3 credits) and General Chemistry Laboratory I - 72817 - CHEM 213 - 201 (1 credit)  [Note that you must simultaneously register for General Chemistry and a Lab or you will not be able to register for either]

If you are exploring your options, there are several "Undecided" options at the top of the list. If you are leaning toward a particular major or college, select the corresponding option, even if you aren't sure.  For these purposes,  select the major you intend to pursue, rather than the major you declared upon entry. You can find out about declaring the major you actually intend to pursue after you have registered for first semester classes.
Some Honors College students are able to double major within four years. If you think you may want to pursue a second major, consult your Honors College advisor during your first semester at Mason.  Be sure to select the major you are most sure about as you "Major" on this form and the major that you are less sure about as your "Second Major," if you think you already know you want to double major.
For instance: "Analytic Geometry/Calculus I - 71152 - Math 113 - 001 (4 credits)"
