Marshall-Rhodes Committee Information

The Marshall-Rhodes Committee is a standing university committee that interviews and selects applicants to receive university nominations for the Marshall and Rhodes Scholarships. Established by the Provost, this committee meets once per calendar year in the spring semester.

To receive a nomination, applicants must appear before this committee at the designated meeting time.

Through their applications and interviews, nominees must demonstrate their competitiveness for the Marshall and/or Rhodes Scholarships and their ability to represent George Mason University. Please note that receiving a university nomination is an honor in itself.

For questions about the Marshall-Rhodes Committee, please contact: pgfs@gmu.edu. For specific questions about the Marshall Scholarship or the Rhodes Scholarship, please contact the campus representative listed below.

To apply for a campus nomination, please complete and submit a "pre-application" form and include a resume no later than 5pm on April 30th. We cannot make any exceptions.

To be competitive and to receive an interview, applicants must:

1) Have a minimum 3.8 GPA

2) Demonstrated significant leadership on campus and/or in the community

3) Have a strong rationale for studying at Oxford or in the UK next year
