Professor Joy Fraser, English department faculty and Honors College affiliate faculty, has discovered evidence in an 1860 murder in Newfoundland that occurred during the 12 days of Christmas. During this time the residents of Bay Roberts would participate in an old custom called mumming, in which they would dress up and visit neighbors homes and try to guess who was under the disguise.
